Admission at Regional Institutes of Education

A Common Entrance Examination- 2017 will be conducted on 11th June, 2017.

Regional Institutes of Education under the National Council of Educational Research & Training, has invited applications online, for admission to the various courses offered by the RIEs at Ajmer, Bhubaneswar, Bhopal, Mysuru, Shillong and School of Teacher Education, Prarambh (Jhajjar, Haryana), from eligible candidates.

B.Sc. B.Ed. (Four Year; Eight Semester)
B.A. B.Ed. (Four Year: Eight Semester)
m.sc.Ed, of 6 years duration (12 semesters)
B.Ed. (Two Year: Four Semester)
M. Ed. (Two Year: Four Semester)
Three Year B.Ed. M.Ed. integrated course (Six Semester)

As part of the selection process, a Common Entrance Examination- 2017 will be conducted on 11th June, 2017, by Regional Institute of Education, Mysore for NCERT.

Eligibility: For admission to the B.Sc B.Ed, of 4 years duration at Ajmer, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar and Mysuru, applicant should have passed the Senior Secondary / Higher Secondary or Equivalent in Science (PCM/PCB) with 50% aggregate (General) and 45% aggregate (SC/ST/PH). Prarambh (School of Teacher Education) Jhajjar, Harayana also offers the course.

For admission to the B.a B.Ed, of 4 years duration at Mysuru, applicant should have passed the Senior Secondary / Higher Secondary or Equivalent Science/Commerce/Arts with 50% aggregate (General) and 45% aggregate (SC/ST/PH). Prarambh (School of Teacher Education) Jhajjar, Harayana also offers the course.

For admission to the m.sc.Ed, of 6 years duration at Mysuru, applicant should have passed the Senior Secondary / Higher Secondary or Equivalent in Science and Mathematics(PCM) with 50% aggregate (General) and 45% aggregate (SC/ST/PH).

For admission to the B.Ed, of 2 years duration at Ajmer, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Mysuru and Shillong, applicant should have Graduation or equivalent in Science / Arts / Engineering with Science or Maths with 50% aggregate (General)/45% aggregate (SC/ST/PH).

For admission to the m.Ed, of 2 years duration at Ajmer, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar and Mysuru, applicant should have B.Ed./ B.A. B.Ed./B.Sc. B.Ed./B.El.Ed./D.El.Ed, with 50% aggregate (General)/45% aggregate (SC/ST/PH).

For admission to the B.Ed-m.Ed (Integrated), of 3 years duration at Bhopal, applicant should have passed Post Graduate Degree in Science/Social Sciences/Humanities from a recognized institution, with 55% aggregate (General)/50% aggregate (SC/ST/PH) marks.

Students can apply to the courses based on the jurisdiction of the places as described below. The Regional Institutes of Education and the eligible candidates who can apply to that Institute are as follows. For some courses, any student can apply irrespective of their location.

RIE Ajmer: B.Sc. B.Ed. (Physical and Biological Group), B.A.B.Ed., B.Ed. and M.Ed: For all courses at RIE Ajmer only the students from the states/UT of Haryana,Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, UttarPradesh, Delhi and Chandigarh are eligible.

RIE Bhubaneswar: B.Sc.B.Ed. (Physical and Biological Group), B.A.B.Ed., B.Ed. and M.Ed: For B.Sc.B.Ed., B.A.B.ED., and M.Ed. Courses at RIE Bhubaneswar only the students from the states/UT of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Jharkhand,Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Odisha, Sikkim, Tripura, West Bengaland Andaman and Nicobar Islandsb are eligible. For B.Ed. Course at RIE Bhubaneswar only the students from the states/UT of Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, West Bengal and Andaman and Nicobar Islands are eligible.

RIE Bhopal: B.Sc.B.Ed. (Physical and Biological Group), B.A.B.Ed., B.Ed., M.Ed and B.Ed-M.Ed (Integrated): For B.Sc.B.Ed., B.A.B.E, B.Ed., and M.Ed. at RIE Bhopal only the students from the states/UT of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Goa, Daman & Diu and Dadra & Nagar Haveli are eligible. For B.Ed.-M.Ed (integrated)at RIE Bhopal students from all the states and UTs are eligible to apply

RIE Mysuru: B.Sc.B.Ed (Physical and Biological Group), B.A.B.Ed., M.Sc.Ed (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics) B Ed and M Ed. For B.Sc. B.Ed., B.A. B.Ed., B.Ed. and M.Ed. courses at RIE Mysuru only the students from the states of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Telangana and the UT of Puducherry and Lakshadweep are eligible. For M.Sc.Ed. (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics) Students from all States and UTs are eligible to apply.

NERIE Shillong: B.Ed. (Two Year). For B.Ed. at NERIE Shillong only the students from the states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura are eligible.

School for Teacher Education, Jhajjar, Haryana: B.Sc.B.Ed. (Physical and Biological Group) B.A.B.Ed. For B.Sc.B.Ed. and B.A.B.Ed. Students from all States can apply.

Structure of CEE: Separate Questions will be prepared as follows for different courses. Group-A: B.Sc. B.Ed./ B.A.B.Ed./ M.Sc.Ed. (Mysuru); Group-B: (i) B.Ed (ii) B.Ed.-M.Ed.(Integrated); Group-C: M.Ed.

For the CEE, the level of question paper will be as given below:

Group-A – The level of questions will be such as expected of the candidate completing higher secondary/senior secondary education. Group-B – The level of questions will be such as expected of the candidate completing graduation. Group-C – The level of questions will be such as expected of the candidate completing graduation and professional education level.

One set of booklet will be prepared for each group. The Test of 120 minutes duration will have 80 test items from Language Proficiency, Teaching Aptitude/Attitude and Reasoning Ability. Out of 80 questions, there will be 20 questions from Language Proficiency in English, 30 from Teaching Aptitude/Attitude and 30 from Reasoning Ability. The Medium of Test Booklets will be English and Hindi.

A correct answer will carry 2 marks. A loss of -0.5 marks will be there for each incorrect answer.

NERIE Shillong:  Gangtok, Jorhat, Umiam (Nerie), Guwahati and Silchar

RIE Ajmer: Delhi, Chandigarh, Shimla, Jammu, Leh, Sri Nagar, Ajmer, Allahabad, Lucknow, Dehradun

RIE Bhopal: Raipur, Panaji, Ahmedabad, Bhopal, Mumbai, Nagpur

RIE Bhubaneswar: Port Blair, Patna, Ranchi, Berhampur, Bhubaneswar, Cuttak, Sambalpur, Kolkata

RIE Mysore: Vijayawada, Mysore, Ernakulam, Kavaratti, Chennai, Hyderabad

Rank list: Rank list will be prepared by giving 60% weightage to the scores in the entrance examination and 40% to the aggregate scores of qualifying examination as defined in the Prospectus. Merit list will consider 2 digits after decimal with rounding off. RIEs will provide 1 seat for each course B.Sc. B.Ed. and B.A. B.Ed., and RIE Mysuru will also provide 1 seat for each course of M.Sc.Ed (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics) over and above of their regular quota, for NTSE awardees. Those who have passed the qualifying examination up to two years back (2015, 2016) and appearing/ appeared in 2017 can apply for B.Sc.B.Ed./ B.A.B.Ed./ M.Sc.Ed. There is no restriction in the passing year to apply in B.Ed., B.Ed.-M.Ed. (integrated), and M.Ed.

The Counseling and admission will be done in respective RIEs. The details of the counseling and admission procedures and dates will be available on the websites of concerned RIEs.

Application: Applications can be submitted at www.riemysore.ac.in or at www.ncert-cee.kar.nic.in.

Entrance Examination Fee for General/OBC category students is Rs. 800/- and that for SC/ST Category students and for PH of any category is Rs. 400/-. Detailed instructions for the same are available in the website.

Applicants have to first register by following the link ‘Registration Form’, in the CEE-2017 website. The last date for registration is 10th May 2017.

Applicant should have a valid e-mail id & mobile number. After the registration is completed, applicant will receive a onetime password/user credentials to the registered mobile. Applicant should Login to the CEE-2017 website using user name/e-mail id and the password sent to the mobile. On login, applicant will be able to see his/her registration number and user name on the top right hand corner. Applicant will have to complete the Applicant’s Index Page, Applicants Basic Details Page and then confirm the Data. Once applicant clicks ‘SUBMIT’ button, no further changes are possible. Applicant will have to then choose the Exam Centre and Programme Details and then confirm. Applicant can View Application and pay the Examination Fees. It can be paid online, using Credit card/Debit card/Net banking) or using e-challan. If e-challan based payment is enabled, applicant need to print the e-challan of the Canara Bank and remit the fee of Rs.800/400 in any of the nearest Canara Bank branch After this, applicant should print the Application Form. If selected through the entrance examination, the printed application form along with all the enclosures including the photo copy of the mark sheet to submitted to the respective RIEs at the time of admission.

Admit Card: Candidate will have to download their admit card after 16th May 2017.

The Last date for submission of qualifying examination marks for 2017 appearing applicants of B.Sc.B.Ed./B.A.B.Ed./M.Sc.Ed programme is 5th July 2017. The last date for submission of qualifying examination marks for 2017 appearing applicants of B.Ed./B.Ed.-M.Ed./M.Ed. programme is 20th July 2017.

The results of B.Sc.B.Ed./B.A.B.Ed./M.Sc.Ed programmes, will be declared on 10th July 2017and the result of B.Ed./B.Ed.-M.Ed./M.Ed. programme will be declared on 24th July 2017.
